We are excited to announce that in September we will be opening a brand new catering facility able to offer our students delicious, healthy food in a modern and attractive environment.

A recently completed Innovate Cafe

.The new coffee and deli bar is the result of a partnership with innovate, a company that is revolutionising school catering in a number of schools.
Like many schools we have suffered from having old facilities and many students have chosen not to eat in the school.
This in turn has created other problems, with students leaving the school, bringing in junk food or, sometimes, not eating at all.
We are confident that we can now attract our students back.

New Facilities
Over the summer the kitchen, service and dining areas will be totally refurbished. Our aim is not only to create a modern ‘coffee shop; style environment but also to be able to provide a much better range of fresh, high quality and reasonably priced food.
The service arrangements will be transformed to ensure that we can serve everyone quickly enough. We will also be creating a new outside area with attractive seating and chairs. Hopefully we will get some sunshine as well!
Fresh, attractive, healthy food
An extensive menu of fresh, attractive and healthy food will be available.
The menu is designed to meet a number of competing requirements that are not always easy to satisfy in one go.
The menu has to meet the new Government regulations on healthy eating – but still be attractive to students.
And we have to be capable of serving one thousand students and staff in just half an hour.
The menu will include main meals, salads, pasta, paninis, hot and cold baguettes, sandwiches, deli bar, fresh fruit, real coffee, smoothies and much more.

Opening Times
The cafe will be open throughout the school day:
Pre-School:
Like it or not there’s not always time to have a proper breakfast before leaving home (although we’d still prefer that to happen!). So if the early morning has been a bit of a rush, then there will be a very good breakfast offer available at school.
This includes cereals, fruit, bacon rolls, breakfast wraps, fruit & yoghurt pots, and drinks.
There are 5 special breakfast offers all available for under £1.

Mid-Morning Break and Lunch Break:
These are the busiest periods. Sixth formers and staff will be able to use the facilities at any time but other students are restricted to these break times.
To help with this, and to ensure full availability at all times, the cafe will operate a lunch service from 10.30 a.m. each day.
This means the full menu will be available at both break times, enabling students to eat at the earlier break if they wish to, especially if they are busy with other activities at the later break.
