Innovate School Canteen

At Sandy Upper School we have a new and modern canteen run by catering service Innovate. The canteen provides healthy food throughout the school day for both staff and students at competitive prices.

The Café is open from 8.00am until 4.00pm providing healthy and appealing food at reasonable prices.

The facility will be open to students from Years 9 - 11 at break and lunchtime and to staff and Sixth Form students (who have more flexible timetables) at other points in the day. 

We produce fresh healthy food that is attractive to students. The choice is extensive and ranges from small, healthy snacks to wholesome main meals. Hot meals, hot and cold baguettes, paninis, wraps, salads, pasta, fresh fruit, smoothies and juices are available all day long. We source local, fresh ingredients and our chefs then prepare our food to the highest possible standards.

Above all we are innovative. It is easy to offer healthy food, harder to persuade pupils to eat it. So we create exciting menus based on tasting and ideas sessions with our students. We create a sense of theatre with food being freshly prepared on specialised equipment like our 'big wok' – right in front of the students. We run 'Food Weeks' that involve students in planning, making and selling healthy food.

Above all we make school food fun and interesting again.
