We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and resourceful Subject Leader at this forward looking and improving school. This position would suit a good, dynamic and experienced teacher. Applications are sought from suitably qualified candidates who will be able to improve GCSE grades, show initiative and deliver Mathematics to A level.

Sandy Upper School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspirational and visionary SENCO who is passionate about improving learning and raising student outcomes. Applications are sought from suitably qualified candidates who have outstanding interpersonal and organisational skills. Successful candidates must demonstrate a commitment to transforming the lives of the full spectrum of young people in their care, together with innovative and strategic thinking.
Reporting to the Assistant Headteacher (Inclusion), the successful candidate will lead the strategic development of Sandy Upper’s SEN policy and ensure the effective implementation of key plans in order to raise pupil outcomes.
We are looking for a candidate who:
• Wants to take ownership and transform the SEN department
• Is excellent as a classroom practitioner who adopts a ‘can do attitude’
• Is committed to improving standards of learning and outcomes of the full spectrum of SEN students (including learning difficulties, language difficulties, disabilities and Gifted & Talented)
• Is an outstanding communicator, able to inspire and motivate others
• Has substantial experience of working with children of secondary age and those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and language difficulties/EAL
• Possesses good data analysis and interpretation skills
The successful candidate will work with feeder schools and lead colleagues across the school in the identification, provision and monitoring of SEN and will be effective at liaising with subject teachers on teaching students with particular needs to ensure positive student outcomes. The ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with parents of pupils with special educational needs is vital. You should be passionate about inclusive practice and committed to raising achievement through excellent teaching and learning.
The successful applicant will be required to teach, the subject of which is negotiable.
